International Exchange and Cooperation for Doctors

In recent years, the Dept. of Talent Exchange and Cooperation, the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) actively carries out the international exchange and cooperation of talents regarding medical care, education, management, etc. of the Chinese Medicine, and builds up some cooperation relationship and bridges to select and dispatch the talents of the Chinese Medicine. By the end of 2009, more than 40 qualified doctors of the Chinese Medicine selected by the WFCMS had worked at the clinics or other institutions of the Chinese Medicine in Switzerland, Spain, the US, Germany, Argentina, the Sultanate of Oman, etc., which facilitated exchange and cooperation of the Chinese Medicine over the world and made contributions to international dissemination of the Chinese Medicine.

China-Med Group AG (Switzerland)
Founded in 1997, the China-Med Group (Switzerland) has established approximate 16 clinics of the Chinese Medicine as well as the companies of herbal medicines in the cities of Zurich, Bern, Schwyz, Chur, Fribourg, Thun, Bienne, St. Gallen, Solothurn of Switzerland, and the cities of the US, the Great Britain, Germany, etc. More than 100 doctors of the Chinese Medicine from the cities or provinces of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, Hubei, Yunnan, etc. of China used to work or are working herein, and the Group provides one or two translators of German or French for the doctors of the Chinese Medicine working at the clinics.
On April 11, 2004, the WFCMS signed the cooperation agreement on operating the clinics of the Chinese Medicine in Switzerland together with Dr. Hans Boller-Wu, the president of the China-Med Group AG (Switzerland). From August, 2004 to August, 2009, more than 20 doctors of the Chinese Medicine were selected in succession by the WFCMS to work at the clinics of the Group in nine different cities of Switzerland, and those doctors were mainly dispatched by the hospitals of Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Tianjin, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Gansu, etc. of China. In the duration of two years when the doctors work in Switzerland, the WFCMS positively assists his or her relatives in applying for the Swiss visa.

On April 25, 2005, the WFCMS and the president of the China-Med Group AG (Switzerland) signed the cooperation agreement of operating the clinics of the Chinese Medicine in the occidental countries besides Switzerland, e.g. the US, German, the Great Britain, etc. And then in March and September of 2006, WFCMS and the president and the Director of European Division of the Group discussed and signed an annex of the agreement on

 In February, 2007, the WFCMS assigned one doctor of the Chinese Medicine from Beijing to work at the clinic of the Group in Virginia, the US.

China Clinic TCM (Lausanne, Switzerland)
Situating its working place at the center of Lausanne, the China Clinic TCM (Lausanne, Switzerland) funded by a private capital was open in March, 2004. The Clinic runs in French as the working language. In August, 2007, the WFCMS had a negotiation with the Clinic, and then the two parties signed the agreement concerning cooperative operation of the Clinic in January, 2008. By the terms of the contract, the WFCMS shall be responsible for selecting qualified acupuncturists and chiropractors of the Chinese Medicine and dispatching them ahead to work at the Clinic for at least two years, and the Clinic provide the doctor of the Chinese Medicine with a translator of French. 

European Foundation of TCM (Spain)
Founded in 1989, the European Foundation of TCM (Spain) with Amposta, Spain as its headquarters sets up its branches in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Tarragona, etc. Aiming to develop the practices and popularization of the Chinese Medicine in Spain, Europe and even in the world and to facilitate the development of the Chinese Medicine internationally, the Foundation has hosted seven international conferences of the Chinese Medicine up to now. The international higher school of the Chinese Medicine affiliated to the Foundation devotes to the four-year higher education of the Chinese Medicine as well as the continuing education and the network education.

On October 20, 2006, the WFCMS and Mr. Ramon Maria Calduch, the Vice-Chairman of the European Foundation of TCM (Spain) signed the cooperation agreement on selecting young female acupuncturists bound for Spain to study Spanish and practice the Chinese Medicine. After several-year cooperation and practice, the two parties revised and complemented the agreement in September, 2008 and November, 2010 separately. Under the new terms of the agreement, the Foundation shall offer a full scholarship for the right doctor to study Spanish in the first year, and then the doctor shall return to Spain for working 3-5 years at the request of the Foundation after she comes back to China upon the completion of the one-year study. Hitherto six eligible acupuncturists selected by the WFCMS have studied and worked or are studying and working presently in Spain.

Sultanate of Oman
At the request of relevant institutions of the Sultanate of Oman, the WFCMS selected a chief physician of acupuncture and dispatched him to Oman as a health care consultant in 2005.

Engagement & Recruitment for Doctors of the Chinese Medicine

Qualifications for Doctors Bound for Switzerland or the US:
1. Be an acupuncturist or chiropractor of the Chinese Medicine at the age of 35 to 45 (extended to 50 for some excellent female doctors), and have bachelor’s degree or above in relevant specialties of the Chinese Medicine.
2. Have at least 10 years’ clinical experiences in acupuncture or massage, can prescribe Chinese herbal medicine, and be in good health and of good morality and medical ethics.
3. Guarantee to work in Switzerland for at least 2 years, and work for about 42 hours per week. The doctor knowing of German or French is preferred.
4. For a doctor bound for the US, he or she shall take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and pass the exam of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) apart from meeting the above requirements.

Qualifications for Doctors Bound for Spain:
1. Be a female acupuncturist under the age of 28 with the certificate of CET-6, and have a bachelor’s degree or above in acupuncture or relevant specialties.
2. Have 1-2 years’ clinical experiences, and be of good morality and medical ethics, in good health and cooperative with workmates.
3. Guarantee to study Spanish and work in Spain for one year in succession, and to work for 3-5 years in Spain after finishing the one-year study as required.
